I always dreamed of taking a road trip down Pacific Coast Highway 1~ and finally did in 2015. I fell in love with Carmel By The Sea, California (What’s not to love!? The charming cottages, the restaurants, the village of quaint shops, the views, the dog friendly beaches!) You could say, “it got under my skin.” Sure, who wouldn’t want to live here? I carried on with my fast pace life in the Chicago western suburb of Glen Ellyn, Illinois ~ the only home I have ever known. And then I heard it, softly at first.

It was the sea salt and cypresses.
